At Second Chance Garage, we work hard every day to help people remove the barrier of not having reliable transportation to get them to school, work, or wherever else they need to go. We are fortunate enough to partner with some other amazing non-profit organizations in Frederick County that also work to remove barriers for people trying to get their lives back on track.

Advocates for Homeless Families

Advocates for Homeless Families began in 1988 with individuals and groups working together to combat the growing issue of homelessness in the community. Since then, they have successfully provided services for hundreds of families to help them overcome homelessness. Some of these services include: 

  • Access to higher education
  • Career training
  • Monthly support groups
  • Intensive case management meetings with a Family Advocate
  • Network of community resources
  • Volunteer mentoring

On Our Own Frederick

On Our Own of Frederick County is a non-profit wellness and recovery center that’s located in downtown Frederick. On Our Own provides services such as peer support, advocacy, life/recovery coaching, and more for adults and families who are experiencing mental health challenges and/or substance abuse issues. 

Support for individuals or families may include: 

  • General Mental Health Support Group
  • Peers in Recovery
  • Book Clubs
  • Art and Music Therapy
  • Trauma-Informed Meditation Group

Frederick County Workforce Services

Securing steady employment is always one of the first steps to getting one’s life back on track. However, that task can be easier said than done. Partnering with American Job Center Network, Frederick County Workforce Services helps link businesses in need of qualified employees with individuals seeking employment. FCWS offers job seekers comprehensive career management services such as:

  • Career assessment
  • Vocational counseling
  • Computer and job search seminars
  • Resumé and interview preparation
  • Opportunities for career training scholarships

FCWS strives to provide local employers with the talent they need to grow their business while giving job seekers universal access to high-quality employment and training opportunities that support career mobility.

Seton Center, Inc.

Since 1969, Seton Center has been helping the people of Frederick County with services to fill unmet needs in the community for individuals and families. Seton Center provides a variety of services including:

  • Assistance with paperwork for government assistance
  • Assistance finding stable housing
  • Workshops on building support systems and using community resources
  • Dental care for the uninsured or underinsured
